・Please display your driver's license (for all drivers).

  1. About international driving license
    *Please display an international driving license issued by a country that is a party to the Geneva Convention (1949) (excluding Japan).
    *You must present your passport and driver's license from your home country at the same time.
    *The validity period of an international driving license is one year from the date of issue (be sure to check the date of issue), and the validity period for driving in Japan is one year from the date of landing in Japan.
    (Confirmed by the stamp of the date of landing in Japan on the passport)
    However, if a person recorded in Japan's Basic Resident Register re-enters Japan within a period of less than three months after leaving Japan, the date of re-entry will be the "day of landing (driving expiration date in Japan)". (starting date)".
    *Driving with an international driver's license obtained in a country that is a member of the Paris Convention (1926), Washington Convention (1943), or Vienna Convention (1968) is not permitted in Japan.
    *When using some vehicles, a permission stamp may be required in column D (Large-sized passenger car) of the vehicle category that can be driven.
     

  2. About foreign driver's license
    *Foreign driver's license issued by applicable countries and regions (six countries: Switzerland, Federal Republic of Germany, Republic of France, Kingdom of Belgium, Principality of Monaco, Republic of Estonia, and Taiwan)
    *A Japanese translation of your driver's license and passport must be presented at the same time.
    *Japanese translations must be issued by the respective country's embassy/consulate in Japan or JAF (Japan Automobile Federation) based on the applicant's application.
    *For Taiwan, a translation issued by JAF (Japan Automobile Federation), Asia East Association, etc. is required.
    *The expiration date for driving in Japan is within the expiration date of the foreign driver's license listed above and one year from the date of landing in Japan.
